Can ZOZEN gas steam boilers run on syngas with a calorific value of 1,500–2,000 kcal/m³?
Yes, ZOZEN gas-fired steam boilers can be configured to operate on syngas (synthesis gas) with a calorific value in the range of 1,500–2,000 kcal/m³. This is significantly lower than standard natural gas (approximately 8,500 kcal/m³), which means the burner system must be specifically matched to handle a higher volumetric gas flow while maintaining a stable air-fuel ratio and consistent combustion performance.
ZOZEN works with professional burner manufacturers to supply customized low-calorific-value burners for each project. The combustion chamber dimensions and flue gas passage are also adjusted accordingly to ensure complete fuel burnout and stable steam output.
For a 5 t/h steam boiler, the WNS series (capacity range: 1–6 t/h, working pressure: 1–1.6 MPa) is a well-suited option. The WNS series features a three-pass wet-back fire-tube design with a large furnace volume, which supports stable combustion even with variable-quality fuel gases. For a 10 t/h requirement, the SZS series (capacity range: 6–35 t/h, working pressure: 1.25–2.5 MPa, thermal efficiency ≥92%) is recommended. The SZS is a water-tube boiler with a D-type layout, offering greater steam output stability and faster load response.
Both series are equipped with fully automatic PLC control systems, safety interlocks, and remote monitoring capability, reducing the need for continuous manual supervision. Customers operating in regions where syngas is produced from coal gasification or biomass gasification have successfully deployed these configurations.

Mongolia's industrial sector has been expanding steadily. Demand for reliable heat supply is growing — particularly in food and beverage manufacturing and urban district heating. Coal is the dominant industrial fuel. The continental climate means heating systems run for long periods each year. At the same time, factories are raising their standards for steam quality, equipment uptime, and emissions compliance. These factors together make boiler selection a more demanding process than it us...07 Apr 2026 -
On the beverage and liquor production line, steam is never merely an auxiliary energy source. Whether for beverage heating, beer brewing, or the relevant processes in vodka production, the steam system runs through the entire production flow. For enterprises, the stable operation of the boiler directly affects the workshop rhythm, process connection, and daily management efficiency. Recently, the SHX series circulating fluidized bed boiler provided by ZOZEN Boiler for a Mongolian enterprise&mdas...31 Mar 2026 -
For many manufacturers with mature production experience in China, expanding capacity overseas or building a new factory abroad often starts with one key question: can the local infrastructure and energy supply support long-term operation? This is especially important in Africa. In many countries, raw materials such as timber are readily available, while conventional fuels like natural gas and diesel are often more expensive and less stable in supply. For plywood plants, this creates a practica...24 Mar 2026
