How to Control Steam Drum Wall Temperature Difference During Boiler Startup?

14 Jun 2024

The steam drum wall in a boiler refers to the wall of the steam drum, which is one of the important components of the boiler. The steam drum wall is generally made of corrosion-resistant alloy steel plates under high temperature and pressure, and has high strength and corrosion resistance.

The steam drum is an important component in the boiler and mainly acts as a buffer between steam and liquid water. When water enters the steam drum from the pipeline, it turns into steam and accumulates at the top of the steam drum, while the water settles at the bottom of the steam drum. The function of the steam drum wall is to separate water and steam, thereby maintaining a stable water level in the boiler, preventing steam from entering the water circulation system, and ensuring the safe operation of the boiler.

In addition, the steam drum wall can also reduce water pulsation, improve water quality, and reduce chemical reactions, which is essential for ensuring the normal operation and prolonging the service life of the boiler.

During the boiler startup process, there are several common ways to control the temperature difference of the steam drum wall:

1. Adjusting the feedwater temperature: By adjusting the feedwater temperature, the temperature difference between the steam drum wall and the water temperature can be controlled, thereby controlling the temperature difference of the steam drum wall.

2. Adjusting the feedwater flow rate: By adjusting the feedwater flow rate, the water level in the steam drum can be controlled, thereby controlling the temperature difference of the steam drum wall.

3. Adjusting the boiler water circulation rate: By adjusting the boiler water circulation rate, the boiler water temperature can be controlled, thereby controlling the temperature difference of the steam drum wall.

4. Adjusting the flow rate of the steam drum bottom blowdown valve: By adjusting the flow rate of the steam drum bottom blowdown valve, the water level in the steam drum can be controlled, thereby controlling the temperature difference of the steam drum wall.

These methods can be used alone or in combination to control the temperature difference of the steam drum wall during the boiler startup process, ensuring the normal operation and safety of the boiler.
