According to the visa-free transit policy for foreigners, personnel from 54 countries, namely Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Monaco, Russia, United Kingdom, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, Belarus, Norway, United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, can apply for a visa-free transit when transiting through China to a third country (region) with valid international travel documents and confirmed tickets with specific dates and seats within a limited time. They can apply for a visa-free transit at the immigration inspection authorities of the ports implementing the policy, and the immigration inspection authorities will handle temporary entry procedures for them, with the visa-free stay starting from midnight the day after entry.

According to the visa-free transit policy for foreigners, the detailed policy for foreigners' visa-free transit is as follows:

24-hour Visa-Free Transit

All open ports in China implement a 24-hour visa-free transit policy for personnel from all countries around the world.

Application Conditions: Foreigners holding valid international travel documents and confirmed tickets on international flights, ships, or trains transiting through China to a third country or region, and staying in China for no more than 24 hours without leaving the port, can be visa-exempt; if they need to leave the port, they should apply for a temporary entry permit from the immigration inspection authorities at the port.

72-hour or 144-hour Visa-Free Transit

Currently, 41 open ports in 19 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) implement a 72-hour or 144-hour visa-free transit policy for personnel from 54 countries.

*Personnel from the aforementioned countries, with valid international travel documents and confirmed tickets with specific dates and seats within a limited time, can apply for a visa-free transit at the immigration inspection authorities of the ports implementing the policy when transiting through China to a third country (region).
