What is the exhaust gas concentration of the biomass-fired boiler and how to deal with it in a more eco-friendly way?

23 Feb 2024

The pollution discharge of the biomass-fired boiler is less than the coal-fired boiler. It is also necessary to deal with the exhaust gas of the biomass-fired boiler to meet the national standards before boiler ignition and operation.

The exhaust gas concentration of the biomass-fired boiler

A set of 6 tph biomass-fired boiler can consume 1,260 kilograms of biomass pellets per hour. If it works for 12 hours a day, it can produce about 94,000 m3 of exhaust gas.

According to the emission volume, it is estimated there will be 7.7 kilograms of carbon dioxide and 570 kilograms of dust discharged into the atmosphere. It should be noted that the above data are only for reference due to the differences of boiler manufacturers in production processes and boiler types.

The exhaust gas treatment method of the biomass-fired boiler

The exhaust gas treatment method of the biomass-fired boiler mainly uses lye spray acid mist flue gas purification and high-temperature flue gas purification. It has the characteristics of high efficiency and convenience. The advantages of the equipment are as follows:

1) Low water consumption. The flushing water can be collected by a collecting pan and recycled after the membrane filtration or directly used as the feed water for the desulfurization tower.

2) High purification efficiency. The horizontal-structure equipment adopts wet electrostatic dust removal technology with a good air distribution effect and a high purification efficiency of 8%.

3) Integration. The equipment is integrated with a long service life of about 25 years.

4) Strong adaptability. The equipment has a high NOx removal rate from the low concentration to medium high concentration.
