ZOZEN DZL Biomass Steam Boiler Serves Cambodia’s Food Processing Industry

Cambodian rice processor AMRU Rice generates a large amount of rice husk during production and requires a stable steam supply for cleaning, steaming, drying, and other processing stages. Based on the company’s fuel availability and steam demand, ZOZEN Boiler supplied an ASME-compliant DZL series single-drum biomass boiler. The boiler converts rice processing by-products into thermal energy and provides continuous steam for the production line.

Rice Husk as Fuel for Rice Processing

Rice husk is a common by-product of rice processing. It is generally available in a stable supply and can be collected within the production site. For rice processors with access to rice husk, using it as boiler fuel can reduce the need for purchased fuel and support the resource utilization of production by-products.

For the AMRU Rice project, ZOZEN Boiler configured the DZL series single-drum biomass boiler according to the company’s production capacity, steam load, fuel characteristics, and site conditions. The boiler uses a chain grate design combined with primary and secondary air distribution. This arrangement supports stable combustion of rice husk inside the furnace.

The fuel is transported, burned, and fully combusted on the grate. The steam generated by the boiler can be used for several heating processes in rice production, including steaming and drying.

Combustion and Ash Removal Designed for Rice Husk

Compared with some conventional biomass fuels, rice husk generally produces a relatively high amount of ash after combustion. Ash handling and the cleanliness of heating surfaces can affect boiler operation. In response to the characteristics of rice husk, ZOZEN Boiler provided a targeted configuration for the combustion system, ash removal system, and auxiliary equipment of the DZL series single-drum biomass boiler.

The furnace structure, grate arrangement, and air distribution system work together to provide suitable combustion conditions for rice husk. According to the project’s fuel characteristics, the boiler is also equipped with corresponding ash discharge and cleaning devices to support routine maintenance.

Through the coordinated design of the fuel system, boiler body, and auxiliary equipment, the DZL series single-drum biomass boiler can meet the operating requirements of rice husk-fired steam supply systems.

DZL Single-Drum Biomass Boiler for Various Applications

ZOZEN DZL series single-drum biomass boilers are suitable for biomass pellets, straw, wood chips, palm shells, rice husk, corn cobs, waste wood, and other fuels. The boiler capacity ranges from 2 to 10 t/h, with a working pressure of 1 to 2.5 MPa.

The DZL biomass steam boiler can be used in food processing, textiles, printing and dyeing, feed production, pharmaceuticals, building materials, brewing, rubber processing, heating, and other industries.

For rice processing companies, the DZL series single-drum biomass boiler can be configured according to the required steam parameters and production process. The system can also be adapted to fuel availability, plant layout, and environmental requirements.

During the design stage, ZOZEN Boiler considers the coordination between the boiler body, fuel feeding system, dust removal equipment, ash discharge system, feedwater system, and control system. This approach helps provide a complete biomass steam supply solution for the customer.

ASME Authorization Stamps for Overseas Boiler Projects

As an export-oriented boiler manufacturer, ZOZEN Boiler holds an A-grade boiler manufacturing license and a D1/D2 pressure vessel manufacturing license. The company also holds the ASME “S” authorization stamp for power boilers and the ASME “U” authorization stamp for pressure vessels. During the AMRU Rice project, ZOZEN Boiler provided services covering solution design, manufacturing coordination, transportation guidance, installation and commissioning, and operator training. In response to the practical needs of overseas customers, including equipment transportation, on-site installation, operation, and maintenance, ZOZEN Boiler supported the connection between equipment delivery and on-site operation through remote communication and engineering services.
