To guarantee the successful and efficient shell boiler operation, the user must:
1)Know the conditions, environment, and demand characteristics of the plant, and accurately specify these conditions to the boiler manufacturer.
2)Provide a boiler house layout and installation that promotes good operation and maintenance.
3)Select the control systems that allow the boiler to operate safely and efficiently.
4)Select the control systems that will support the boiler in supplying dry steam to the plant at the required pressure(s) and flowrate(s).
5)Identify the fuel to be used and, if necessary, where and how the fuel reserve is to be safely stored.
The efficiency of a coal-fired boiler depends on the loss of the boiler, the best efficiency in the boiler can be achieved if the losses are kept to the minimum. Since 50% of the losses are dependent on the fuel and ambient condition, the best efficiency can be achieved by properly tuning the other 50%, i.e. mainly carbon loss and dry gas loss.
The combustion method of the boiler equipment is also a factor that the majority of users will consider when selecting the boiler. Depending on the combustion method, the boiler structure and boiler room layout will be different.
The oil-fired boiler refers to the boiler fueled by oil, including the diesel, waste oil and other fuel oil. The oil consumption of the oil-fired boiler affects the economic operation of the boiler.
The quality of boiler feedwater is an important determinant of safe boiler operations and it should be monitored to maintain the quality within safe working limits. Boiler feedwater is treated to protect the boiler from two basic problems: the buildup of solid deposits on the interior or water side of the tubes, and corrosion.
The flue gas first enters the cyclone dust collector which acts as a primary dust collector to make the large dust particles in the flue gas settle down. The cyclone dust collector is a dust removal device which uses the centrifugal force generated by the cyclone flow to separate the dust particles from the air flow. Afterwards, the flue gas enters the wet scrubber dust collector which is a circular-type cylinder. The circulating water enters the dust collector from the upper overflow tank to form a uniform water film on the inner wall of the dust collector. The flue gas is induced tangentially or spirally from the lower part of the cylinder and rotates in the cylinder. Under the influence of the centrifugal force, the dust particles are separated from the flue gas and then the flue gas is also spirally led out from the top of the cylinder. The dust particles are thrown to the water film, transferred to the bottom and finally discharged from the dust port.
The natural gas fired boilers occupy a large proportion of boilers for the industrial and civil uses. They have low energy consumption and can reach the environmental protection standards.
