How to determine the working pressure of boiler system?
The working pressure of the boiler system should be economical and reasonable. Steam conveying system is an important connection between steam source and steam equipment. Steam distribution system must provide correct flow rate and correct pressure with less heat loss and less cost. Theoretically, the working pressure of the boiler system depends on the highest pressure required by the steam point equipment. However, we must keep in mind that the steam condensation caused by the flow resistance and heat dissipation loss of the steam pipeline makes the pressure of the steam drop after passing through the conveying system. Therefore, a certain allowance must be considered when determining the working pressure of the boiler system.
When selecting the working pressure of the boiler system, we must consider the following points:
(1) Pressure required by steam equipment
(2) Pressure drop (friction) caused by flow resistance along the pipeline
(3) Heat loss of pipeline
As we know, the specific volume of steam under high pressure is small, so when conveying steam under a pressure higher than the operating pressure, the diameter ratio of the pipeline needed to convey the same amount of steam is small.
