What does industrial medium pressure mean?

29 Apr 2022

A boiler is a kind of equipment that uses the heat released by fuel combustion to heat the working medium and generate steam at a certain pressure and temperature. It is composed of two parts: boiler and furnace. Meanwhile, in order to ensure the normal operation of the boiler, the necessary accessories, instruments and auxiliary equipment must be provided. Knowledge of boiler system is complex, so users often face many difficulties in purchasing. Here, ZOZEN Boiler will explain to you what is the meaning of boiler medium pressure.

What does boiler medium pressure mean?

Boiler medium pressure, also known as boiler working pressure, refers to the pressure of medium in the boiler, which is generally displayed by pressure gauge. Operators can adjust the combustion according to the pressure indicated by the pressure gauge, and control the pressure within the allowable range to ensure the safe operation of the boiler.

The pressure of boiler medium above atmospheric pressure is called positive pressure, and that below atmospheric pressure is called negative pressure. According to the pressure benchmark, it can be divided into absolute pressure and gauge pressure. Absolute pressure means that there is no pressure in the container at all, and it is the pressure counted as the starting point, which is recorded as PJ; The gauge pressure is the pressure calculated from atmospheric pressure, and it is recorded as Pb. So the pressure of pressure gauge refers to the pressure higher or lower than the atmospheric pressure. The above pressure relation is: absolute pressure Pj= atmospheric pressure Pa+ gauge pressure Pb. This is the answer to what boiler medium pressure means.
