ZOZEN Tri-Drum Biomass Boiler Empowers Green and Efficient Development of the Fish Meal Industry

24 Jun 2025

In Weihai, Shandong, the fish meal industry serves as a vital pillar of the local economy, now facing increasingly fierce market competition. Amid this landscape, enterprises are eager for energy solutions that are not only efficient and eco-friendly but also cost-effective. At this crucial moment, the ZOZEN triple drum biomass boiler has made a strong entrance, opening new paths for the local fish meal enterprises.

ZOZEN Triple Drum Biomass Boiler: Paving a New Way for Fish Meal Enterprises

Energy consumption has always been a major component of production costs in the fish meal industry. Previously, many Weihai fish meal companies relied on gas-fired boilers, which, while maintaining basic production, came with high operating costs that severely constrained business development. In stark contrast, the ZOZEN triple drum biomass boiler demonstrates a decisive edge in fuel cost control. Verified by actual production, it can reduce operating costs by 30–40% compared with gas boilers.

Take Shandong Yongshun Fish Meal Factory as an example: after adopting a 15-ton triple drum non-coking biomass boiler, the plant can generate up to 5.8 tons of steam per ton of biomass pellets. By switching from liquefied natural gas, the company achieved a significant reduction in operating costs. Furthermore, the ZOZEN team tailored a condensate recovery system to the factory’s needs, which has increased thermal efficiency, saved water resources, and further reduced energy waste and operating costs.

Such outstanding results are rooted in ZOZEN’s relentless pursuit of technological innovation. The ZOZEN triple drum biomass boiler features a unique new triple drum structure, with two smaller drums arranged in an “A” shape beneath the convection tube bundle. This design ensures smooth discharge of ash generated by biomass combustion, minimizing ash accumulation inside the boiler and significantly reducing maintenance costs. At the same time, the furnace chamber uses a densely arranged water-cooled wall tube structure, together with a customized boiler system, greatly increasing the radiant heating area. With a thermal efficiency exceeding 88%—10% higher than ordinary biomass boilers—fuel consumption is significantly reduced. In addition, in-depth cooperation with Shanghai Jiao Tong University has enabled the establishment of a cold-state air duct experimental platform and a combustion laboratory, propelling ZOZEN biomass boilers into their fourth generation.

Haiqing Marine Biotechnology Reduces Operating Costs by One-Third

The ZOZEN triple drum biomass boiler also excels in labor cost control. Highly automated, it features automatic feeding, soot blowing, and slag removal, reducing labor input while greatly enhancing operational stability. This thoroughly addresses the long-standing challenges of time-consuming ash cleaning and frequent production interruptions faced by fish meal enterprises.

Haiqing Marine Biotechnology is another beneficiary of this technological upgrade. Having replaced their gas-fired boiler with a non-coking biomass boiler equipped with a condensate recovery system, actual tests show that each ton of biomass pellets can generate 5.5 tons of steam, with operating costs estimated to drop by one-third compared to the previous system. Similarly, Baoli Biotechnology made a wise choice by switching to the same ZOZEN biomass boiler, cutting production costs by 40% per cubic meter.

Baoli Biotechnology Saves 40% on Production Costs

From pre-sales planning, through installation and commissioning, to after-sales maintenance, ZOZEN Boiler provides comprehensive technical support for customers. With ample spare parts reserves, professional operator training, remote diagnostics, and on-site services, ZOZEN ensures that boilers operate efficiently and stably over the long term.

In the Weihai fish meal industry, the ZOZEN triple drum biomass boiler—thanks to its remarkable advantages in fuel cost, technological innovation, fuel adaptability, as well as labor and maintenance costs—is powerfully driving enterprises towards green and efficient development, and has become a key force leading the transformation and upgrading of the local fish meal industry.
