How safe are water tube boilers?
Safety is always a top priority when working with industrial boilers, at least it should be. Fortunately, safety has become less of an issue with more modern water tube boilers. Compared to traditional fire tube boilers, water tube boilers are far safer, almost to the point where you don’t have to worry about a catastrophic explosion taking place.
The biggest reason water tube boilers are safer than fire tube boilers is that they have less water inside them. Most fire tube boilers contain hundreds if not thousands of gallons of water. A significant amount of that water is there to serve as a heat shield for the burner so that the metal inside the boiler doesn’t melt. This combination of hundreds of gallons of water and a high amount of pressure inside the boiler can be dangerous if the boiler isn’t functioning properly.
Water tube boilers, on the other hand, only require roughly 10% of the water in fire tube boilers. This helps to limit the risk of too much water turning into steam instantly and blowing the doors off the boiler, which is possible with conventional boilers. More importantly, all of the water is confined inside the tubes. If one of those tubes were to break from the pressure, only that tube will be affected and not the entire boiler. This makes a serious explosion in a water tube boiler next to impossible.

Mongolia's industrial sector has been expanding steadily. Demand for reliable heat supply is growing — particularly in food and beverage manufacturing and urban district heating. Coal is the dominant industrial fuel. The continental climate means heating systems run for long periods each year. At the same time, factories are raising their standards for steam quality, equipment uptime, and emissions compliance. These factors together make boiler selection a more demanding process than it us...07 Apr 2026 -
On the beverage and liquor production line, steam is never merely an auxiliary energy source. Whether for beverage heating, beer brewing, or the relevant processes in vodka production, the steam system runs through the entire production flow. For enterprises, the stable operation of the boiler directly affects the workshop rhythm, process connection, and daily management efficiency. Recently, the SHX series circulating fluidized bed boiler provided by ZOZEN Boiler for a Mongolian enterprise&mdas...31 Mar 2026 -
For many manufacturers with mature production experience in China, expanding capacity overseas or building a new factory abroad often starts with one key question: can the local infrastructure and energy supply support long-term operation? This is especially important in Africa. In many countries, raw materials such as timber are readily available, while conventional fuels like natural gas and diesel are often more expensive and less stable in supply. For plywood plants, this creates a practica...24 Mar 2026
