Why must demineralized water be used in hot water boilers?
Tap water or water with a lot of impurities will cause the magnesium ions and calcium ions in the water to form some white precipitates when heated at high temperature, causing scaling problems and reducing the heat transfer efficiency of the boiler. Boiler operation safety brings hidden dangers, even shutdown.
The specific reason why softened water must be used in hot-water boilers is that it will not produce scale in the process of use, so that potential safety hazards of boilers can be avoided, and further, dangers or accidents can be avoided. Therefore, generally in hot water boilers, there will be softened water equipment. If not, scale inhibitor is added to the boiler to achieve the above purpose.
When the boiler is designed, ZOZEN will answer why softened water must be used in the hot water boiler and design a reasonable water treatment configuration to ensure the long-term stable operation of the hot water boiler.

See You in Dhaka on April 29 | ZOZEN Boiler Confirms Participation in BTKG 2026 Bangladesh ranks among the world's major garment and textile producing and exporting countries. Its extensive textile and dyeing industry maintains a consistent, concrete demand for stable and efficient industrial heat sources. From April 29 to May 2, 2026, the Bangladesh International Textile, Knitting & Garment Industry Exhibition (BTKG 2026) will be held at the ICCB International Convention City Bashundhara i...21 Apr 2026 -
In Pakistan, garment manufacturing and fabric processing remain important parts of industrial production. For these factories, steam is not an auxiliary utility but a core part of the production chain. Processes such as dyeing, drying, heat setting, and finishing all require a stable and continuous steam supply. Any fluctuation in steam output may affect production rhythm. Against this background, more textile companies in Pakistan are paying closer attention to fuel adaptability, operating sta...14 Apr 2026 -
Mongolia's industrial sector has been expanding steadily. Demand for reliable heat supply is growing — particularly in food and beverage manufacturing and urban district heating. Coal is the dominant industrial fuel. The continental climate means heating systems run for long periods each year. At the same time, factories are raising their standards for steam quality, equipment uptime, and emissions compliance. These factors together make boiler selection a more demanding process than it us...07 Apr 2026
