Pom Packaging is a large manufacturing plant mainly producing all kinds of packaging box and cartons, which has nearly 20 years' operating experience in Papua New Guinea. The government of Papua New Guinea concentrates on economic development in recent years; Pom Packaging seized the opportunity and accelerated the production growth, the phenomenon in short supply was gradually showing up, so Pom Packaging enlarged several additional production lines to solve the problem. This company needed to urgently purchase several stable steam boilers to meet production demands, because a huge amount of steam was required in the production workflow of concentration, bleaching and drying.
In order to improve the economic benefits, Pom Packaging planned to use wood chips as fuel. Since wood chips feature high moisture and low calorific value, the problems of inefficient fuel burning, ash deposition and abrasion are prone to arise, that is to say, this characteristic of wood chips implies a high performance demand to the boiler.
