    Volatile matter in coal refers to the components of coal, except for moisture, which are liberated at high temperature in the absence of air. This is usually a mixture of short- and long-chain hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons and some sulfur. Volatile matter also evaluate the adsorption application of an activated carbon. The volatile matter of coal is determined under rigidly controlled standards. In Australian and British laboratories this involves heating the coal sample to 900 ± 5 °C (1650 ±10 °F) for 7 min. Also as the rank of coal increases the volatile matter decreases (AMK).
  • How to select the economic fineness of pulverized coal? 2020-03-13
    The fineness of pulverized coal is an important indicator to measure the pulverized coal quality. In terms of combustion, the particle size of pulverized coal is expected to be as small as possible to facilitate the ignition and combustion, reduce the heat loss of incomplete combustion, the amount of air supply and heat loss of exhaust smoke. In terms of pulverized coal milling, the particle size of pulverized coal is expected to be as coarse as possible to reduce the power consumption and steel consumption. Therefore, when selecting the fineness of pulverized coal, a compromise of the two aspects is taken as the economic fineness. It shall be determined through combustion adjustment tests according to the fuel properties and the type of pulverizing equipment.

If the rotational speed is too slow or the conveyor belt is too loose, the rotational speed should be adjusted and the conveyor belt should be tightened. 4. If the impeller, suction pipe and bottom valve are blocked by dirt, you should check the pump body and clean the dirt. 5. If the height of water conveyance exceeds the regulations too much, the pump head should be adjusted to the specified range.
  • What reasons cause the increase of burner noise of a gas-fired boiler? 2020-02-21

If the stop valve of the oil circuit is closed or the feeding of oil is insufficient and the oil filter is blocked, it is necessary to check that the valve in the oil circuit is open, the oil filter works normally and clean the filter screen of the pump. 2.     The function of the burner is to send the fuel and air into the furnace constantly, organize the air flow of pulverized coal reasonably and mix them well for rapid and stable ignition and combustion.
  • Why should oil be atomized prior to the oil combustion of oil-fired boilers? 2020-02-21
    The oil and air must be mixed for the combustion of the fuel droplets to take place. The combustion speed depends on the evaporation speed of oil droplets and the mixing speed of oil and air. The evaporation speed of oil droplets is related to the diameter and temperature of oil droplets. The smaller the fuel droplets, the higher the temperature and the faster the evaporation. On the other hand, it is conducive to mixing and combustion. The smaller the fuel droplets, the larger the air contract surface. Therefore, the fuel oil must be atomized before combustion. And, the oil can be heated and evaporated rapidly and fully burnt after it is injected to the furnace.
  • What is the combustion efficiency of an industrial boiler? 2020-01-24
    Combustion efficiency is an indication of the burner’s ability to burn fuel. The amount of unburned fuel and excess air in the exhaust are used to assess a burner’s combustion efficiency. Burners resulting in low levels of unburned fuel while operating at low excess air levels are considered efficient. Well designed conventional burners firing gaseous and liquid fuels operate at excess air levels of 15% and result in negligible unburned fuel. Well designed ultra low emissions burners operate at a higher excess air level of 25% in order to reduce emissions to very low levels. By operating at the minimum excess air requirement, less heat from the combustion process is being used to heat excess combustion air, which increases the energy available for the load. Combustion efficiency is not the same for all fuels and, generally, gaseous and liquid fuels burn more efficiently than solid fuels.
