How to directly tell whether the coal-fired boiler saves coal?

21 Aug 2020

Coal is one of the main fuels used by boilers, especially the coal-fired boiler. In order to reduce the production costs, we need to know whether the coal-fired boiler saves coal in operation.

Firstly, we can observe the smoke generated by the coal-fired boiler during operation. If the smoke is dark or completely black, it means that the smoke contains coal. As a result, it can be judged that the coal saving effect of the coal-fired boiler is not good and the thermal efficiency is not high.

Secondly, we should know the combustion rate of coal-fired boiler via observing the coal cinders. If the coal cinders are many lumps, it means that the combustion rate of coal-fire boiler is not high due to the incomplete combustion of coal, so the heat energy is not sufficiently used and the coal saving effect is not ideal.

Thirdly, we also can quickly touch the chimney wall and boiler wall of coal-fired boiler. If the temperature is high, it means that there are problems in chimney storage and boiler insulation. The heat energy comes from coal. However, the coal is discharged without complete combustion, so the boiler can not save coal.

In the above ways, users can directly know the coal saving conditions and thermal efficiency of the coal-fired boiler to tell the boiler's performance and value.

  • Building a Plywood Plant in Africa: How to Choose the Right Heat Source?
For many manufacturers with mature production experience in China, expanding capacity overseas or building a new factory abroad often starts with one key question: can the local infrastructure and energy supply support long-term operation? This is especially important in Africa. In many countries, raw materials such as timber are readily available, while conventional fuels like natural gas and diesel are often more expensive and less stable in supply. For plywood plants, this creates a practica...
