The causes and analysis of common steam boiler failures mainly include boiler overpressure, water shortage, high drum water level, tube explosion and other problems. After having a preliminary understanding of the steam boiler fault causes, the subsequent safe operation will be more secure.
First of all, it is necessary to prevent the occurrence of boiler overpressure accidents when the steam boiler is running. The overpressure is mainly caused by the rapid increase of pressure, which exceeds the maximum allowable pressure. The pressure is still rising after overpressure. The overpressure protection device should send out an alarm signal to stop supplying coal gas, and the steam temperature will rise, and the flow rate will drop. After overpressure occurs, the combustion should be reduced quickly, and the safety valve should be opened to increase feed water. At the same time, step-down measures should be taken to reduce the temperature in the lower boiler drum, which will endanger the safe operation. When reducing the pressure, don't drop too fast.
Another common reason and analysis of steam boiler failure is that the boiler is short of water. The water level is lower than the safe water level, the water level alarm sounds, the air supply stops when the water level is low, the grate deceleration motor stops running, the superheater steam temperature rises sharply higher than the normal outlet steam temperature and the exhaust gas temperature rises. When there is a serious water shortage, you can smell something burning. From the oven door, you can see the red-hot water-cooling wall, and you can also hear the explosion when the furnace tubes burst. In case of water shortage, emergency shutdown should be taken, instead of blindly adding water to the boiler, and fuel shall be reduced if there is a slight water shortage.
