Water treatment outside the boiler
Before entering the boiler, raw water is treated with water treatment equipment to remove impurities such as hardness, salinity, dissolved oxygen, etc., so that the feed water can meet the water quality requirements specified by steam boiler. Common water treatment equipment includes sodium ion exchange water softening equipment, ion exchange desalination equipment, reverse osmosis water purification equipment and thermal oxygen removal equipment.

If the impurities in the boiler feedwater are not dealt with properly, carryover of boiler water into the steam system can occur.
Carryover can be caused by two factors:
A steam boiler is a water containing vessel which transfers heat generated by a fuel source into steam, which is then piped and directed to points where it could be used while running industrial equipment. The basic idea here is to convert water to steam using a source of heat.
Whether it's an industrial hot water boiler or an industrial steam boiler, they all depend on fuel to run. The process of heating is initiated as the burner heats or eventually evaporates the water inside of it. It's actually transported via intricate pipe systems.
Steam boilers transport through the pressure created by the process, while hot water boilers use pumps to move heat throughout the system. Eventually the condensed steam or cooled water returns back through the pipes to the boiler system, so the heating process can be initiated again.
As the boiler creates heat energy, a byproduct of the process — flue gases — are exited through a chimney system. Because of this, regulating the industrial boiler emissions is a very serious issue.
The quality of boiler feedwater is an important determinant of safe boiler operations and it should be monitored to maintain the quality within safe working limits. Boiler feedwater is treated to protect the boiler from two basic problems: the buildup of solid deposits on the interior or water side of the tubes, and corrosion.
The vertical type and horizontal type are the two main types of boiler. The vertical gas-fired boiler has small volume and is suitable for small workshops or small production enterprises. It is often used in the fields of hot water and heating. The horizontal gas-fired boiler has larger volume with a wider application range than the vertical gas-fired boiler.
The high heat transfer of the boiler requires good medium. With the improvement of boiler in the production technology and intelligenlization, gas-fired boilers have more strict requirements for boiler operation medium in order to improve the boiler operating performance, reduce boiler failures and costs.
Gas-fired hot water boilers require high-quality water to improve the boiler performance and extend the service life. If the boiler uses the tap water of water which contains a lot of impurities, magnesium and calcium ions in the water will form white precipitates when the water is heated at high temperatures, which can cause the scaling problem to reduce the heat transfer efficiency of the boiler and bring hidden dangers of the boiler safety.
